I’m on an iMac, late 2011, with 12GB of RAM, running El Capitan. I’ve used other “apps”, but none has returned more space the AVG Cleaner . Have it for more than 1.5 years, I run this app every month usually re-claims about 1.3GB including many hidden files. I like to keep my iMac “clean” also by using Dr. Cleaner which offers Disc Cleaning Memory Optimization, (removes previously closed apps footprint automatically). Would highly recommend this app! And it’s Free. Great Cleaner. This is the best cleaner I’ve used. I’ve tried other programs, but I wasn’t too impressed with them, I always came back to this one.
