One minute of video from each camera is always recorded and kept as a buffer, so that recordings started by motion detection can begin before the triggering event. Installation was easy and quick. I have 5 cameras, all different models of TrendNet, Level One, Advidia, and HikVision. This is only software that supported all of them simultaneously. I love the interface, very intuitive. Frame rate on the high resolution Hikvision camera could be better, but that might be a bandwidth limit of my wireless connection. We caught a burglar prowling around our back yard. He saw my camera and moved onto the house across the street. I gave a copy of the recording to the police and they were able to identify and catch the burglar that broke into my neighbor's place! Most valuable software on my PC. I have had NONE of the problems that other reviewers are complaining about and this is the ONLY program that is not only easy to setup but actually works flawlessly at least for me. It has all the features that I need and the software is well designed. I'm really picky and if I sing the praises of an application, it's good.
